State House Communications Director Myk Berewa has broken his silence following Wednesday’s dramatic live television walkout, explaining that his decision to leave the set was an act of “self-care” and a “moral obligation” to protect the office he represents.
In a social media post after the incident, Berewa wrote: “😁Ya’al know how tolerant I am. I don’t run away, I WALK AWAY! Distancing myself from toxic and temperamental people, is self-care. I have the moral obligation to protect the office i represent. That’s the flex that comes with being the Director of Coms OFTP.”
The post came after a live breakfast programme on Slik Online TV was abruptly cut short on Monday following a heated exchange between Berewa and Alfred Minkailu Payamba Koroma, a member of the All People’s Congress (APC) publicity secretariat.
The disagreement occurred during a panel discussion in which Berewa accused the APC of being financially weak and suggested the party was eager to return to power to “loot state resources.”
Koroma strongly rejected the allegation, describing the claim as “rubbish,” after disputing Berewa’s remarks on airtime allocation during the programme.
Berewa then demanded that Koroma withdraw the statement, but Koroma refused. The exchange escalated briefly despite attempts by the programme host to maintain order and continue the discussion.
Berewa subsequently left the studio, stating that he would not remain on the same panel as Koroma, whom he accused of being disrespectful. Koroma described Berewa’s decision to walk out as an overreaction.
The incident disrupted the live broadcast and ended the programme prematurely, leaving discussions on the topic incomplete.

We all know how tough it is to defend a lie, going on a live tv to talk about Development that we have not seen yet and failing to show the specific location of the development carried out us as you said is really concerning
We are tired with your lies
Don’t mix politics with Development
