Two prominent All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirants, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) and Hon. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK), on Friday joined Muslim worshippers for Jummah prayers at the historic Basharia Masjid on Bombay Street in Freetown.

The appearance of the two APC presidential hopefuls at the mosque drew attention as they worshipped alongside congregants in a show of solidarity, unity, and respect for the country’s religious values.

The prayer session, led by the mosque’s Imam, also included reflections on the life and legacy of the late Imam Bashar, a respected Islamic leader remembered for his commitment to peace, moral leadership, and youth development. Worshippers were encouraged to uphold the values of tolerance, harmony, and community service that he championed throughout his lifetime.

Dr. Bangura and Hon. Kamara were seen participating in the religious service alongside other congregants, underscoring the importance of faith and national cohesion at a time when political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of future electoral contests.

The Basharia Islamic Mission, founded by the late Imam Bashar, has grown into a significant religious institution with numerous mosques and schools across the country, contributing to Islamic education and community development.

The event concluded with prayers for peace, national development, and continued unity among Sierra Leoneans, with worshippers calling for collective efforts to promote stability and progress across the country.
