The Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) has announced new dates for its deferred Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will now be held on July 31 and August 1, 2026, at the Freetown International Conference Centre in Aberdeen.
According to a notice issued by the Association, the two-day gathering will bring together legal practitioners from across the country to review the state of the profession, deliberate on key policy issues, and elect new leadership.
This year’s AGM will be held under the theme: “Trade, Finance & Law: The Legal Profession’s Role in Facilitating Global Economic Integration.”
The programme will feature presentations from SLBA leadership, interactive panel discussions, the consideration of resolutions, and elections for key positions within the Association.

The SLBA also reminded members that only fully paid-up members—those who settled their conference and annual subscription fees on or before May 29, 2026—will be eligible to participate in voting, contesting for positions, and accessing the conference venue.
The Association said the AGM is expected to serve as a platform for strengthening professional engagement among lawyers while addressing issues affecting legal practice and its contribution to national development.
The event will also provide an opportunity for members to examine the role of the legal profession in supporting trade, finance, and broader economic integration in Sierra Leone and beyond.
