Star Sport Academy has announced a ban on its registered players from participating in inter-community leagues and similar football competitions, citing the need to protect the academy’s professional standards, integrity, and reputation.
The directive was contained in a press release issued by the academy’s management, which stated that the policy aims to preserve the sanctity of the game and maintain the standards expected of players competing at the highest levels of football, including the Premier League.
According to the academy, the decision forms part of efforts to uphold discipline and professionalism among its players while safeguarding the institution’s image and long-term development objectives.
The management warned that any registered player found participating in inter-community competitions would be considered to have violated the academy’s rules and regulations and would face appropriate disciplinary measures and sanctions.

Star Sport Academy further cautioned communities, football organisers, and clubs against engaging, registering, or contracting with the academy for participation in such competitions. The academy maintained that such actions run contrary to the principles and professional standards it seeks to promote.
The statement emphasised that the academy remains committed to developing players capable of competing at elite levels of the sport and believes that strict adherence to its policies is essential to achieving that objective.
Management called on all players, parents, football stakeholders, and community organisers to take note of the directive and ensure full compliance.
The academy concluded by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining professionalism, discipline, and high sporting standards as it continues to nurture and develop young football talents in Sierra Leone.
