The Peace Ambassador, Abubakarr S. Turay, popularly known as Shaddy Baby, on Thursday, 25th June 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) at its Head Office in Freetown.

During the visit, he held discussions with the Executive Secretary, Hawa Sally Samai, and Deputy Executive Secretary Moses Margao, focusing on strengthening collaboration in peacebuilding initiatives.

He said the purpose of his visit was to establish a strong working relationship with the Commission and reaffirm his support for its peacebuilding efforts. He further disclosed that he is working on establishing an office and developing a national peace project aimed at encouraging broad public participation.

He expressed enthusiasm about contributing meaningfully to national development through peace promotion and civic engagement.

During the meeting, the Peace Ambassador commended the ICPNC for its commitment to fostering peace and national cohesion across Sierra Leone.

In response, Executive Secretary Hawa Sally Samai welcomed the Peace Ambassador and praised his dedication to peace promotion. She reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with him in advancing peacebuilding efforts nationwide.

She also highlighted ongoing ICPNC initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue, social cohesion, and national unity, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration to strengthen peace and development efforts.

The meeting concluded with discussions on future cooperation and a shared commitment to supporting lasting peace in Sierra Leone.
