The first day of activities leading to the 2026 Ordinary Congress of the Sierra Leone Football Association concluded on Friday, June 26, in Bo City, with a series of landmark engagements focused on strengthening football governance, transparency, and development across the country.
In what has been described as a historic first in Sierra Leone football, the SLFA leadership held structured consultation meetings with all five Regional Football Associations ahead of the Congress. The engagement, spearheaded by SLFA President Babadi Kamara and members of the Executive Committee, provided an open platform for discussions on regional football development, key challenges, and opportunities for future growth.

During the consultations, Babadi Kamara thanked delegates for their continued confidence and support, while reaffirming the Executive Committee’s commitment to collaborating closely with stakeholders to advance football at all levels across Sierra Leone.
The day’s activities also reflected the Association’s renewed focus on transparency, accountability, and stronger stakeholder engagement, highlighted by the hosting of the first-ever Congress dinner for delegates, staff, and invited media practitioners.

As part of the pre-congress events, delegates participated in a friendly football match featuring a combined Southern, Eastern, and Northeastern Regions team against a Northwest and Western Regions select side. The match served as a symbol of unity and solidarity among football stakeholders from across the country.
The activities ended with a dinner gathering hosted by the SLFA, bringing together delegates, staff, and members of the media in a relaxed setting ahead of the main Congress proceedings.

The 2026 SLFA Ordinary Congress is expected to continue today, Saturday, June 27, at Wizard Hall, where delegates will formally convene for key deliberations on the future of football in Sierra Leone.
