The Sierra Leone Police Hospital has received a major boost in its healthcare capacity following a strategic partnership with the Saving Lives Initiative Organisation, a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to improving medical services in Sierra Leone.

On Friday, the organisation delivered medical equipment worth thousands of dollars, reinforcing its long-term collaboration with the Police Hospital and other health facilities nationwide.

Head of the Saving Lives Initiative, Mr Abdullah Malik Jalloh Jamboria, said the donation was part of a broader plan to ensure sustainability in healthcare delivery.

We are not only donating equipment but also building partnerships that strengthen hospitals and empower medical staff through training and missions,” he explained.

He commended the Police Hospital’s doctors and nurses for their commitment to professional development, noting that their active participation in training programmes has been vital to the success of the initiative.

The donated supplies, including oxygen concentrators, patient monitors, surgical masks, gloves, syringes, and computers, are expected to improve surgical operations and daily medical procedures.

Mr Jalloh Jamboria confirmed that part of the equipment would be distributed to other hospitals across Sierra Leone, ensuring wider access to essential medical resources.

Representing the Inspector General of Police, ASP Dr John M. Konteh, Deputy Director and Medical Superintendent of the Police Hospital, expressed gratitude for the continued support.

This partnership is helping us deliver better healthcare to our patients. We will ensure the donated equipment is properly utilised to improve services,” Dr Konteh assured.

He emphasised that the collaboration with Saving Lives Initiative is not only about equipment but also about building a stronger healthcare system for Sierra Leone.
