Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has donated more than 25 laptop computers and modems with one-year subscriptions to district and regional secretaries of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s administrative and organisational capacity.

Dr. Sengeh made the donation on Monday, August 31, 2026, during a meeting at the SLPP headquarters, where he was received by National Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, elected officials, district, regional and national executive officers, and more than 100 grassroots supporters.

According to the Chief Minister, the donation fulfils a commitment he made several months ago to district and regional secretaries and forms part of his broader human capital development priorities within the party.

In addition to the laptops, each beneficiary received a modem with a one-year subscription, provided with support from Madam Salima Monorma Bah. The beneficiaries also received introductory computer training aimed at improving their ability to use the equipment effectively, with support from Mr. Jasper Patrick Sembie.

Dr. Sengeh said the intervention builds on other support provided to SLPP secretaries over the past six months, including full scholarships for constituency-level secretaries and above pursuing undergraduate degrees or lower, as well as 50 percent scholarships for those pursuing postgraduate programmes, including master’s and doctoral degrees, locally and internationally.

He also noted that his office had supported the National Association of Constituency Secretaries to organise a national conference and develop an action plan.

The Chief Minister said the initiative is intended to support the vision of the party’s Leader and National Chairman to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and improve the effectiveness of party structures.

During the meeting, National Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa called for additional support for party administrators and functional national officers.

In response, Dr. Sengeh pledged to provide five additional desktop computers for administrative staff and 10 laptops for national officers.

The Chief Minister described the interventions as part of his commitment to human capital development within the SLPP, stressing that the party’s claim of being a “radically inclusive human capital political party” should be reflected in practical actions.

He concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s broader delivery agenda, stating: “Together, we will deliver.”
