The United States in a press statement announces More Than $380 Million in Additional Humanitarian Assistance for Africa.
Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State in the statement said that the United States will provide an additional $380 million in humanitarian assistance for Africa and with this funding, the United States has provided more than $4 billion in humanitarian assistance this fiscal year to respond to the needs of refugees, internally displaced persons, and people affected by conflict and crisis on the African continent.
The statement also stated that “The United States continues to lead as the largest single country provider of humanitarian assistance worldwide.”
They said that their assistance will provide shelter, water and sanitation for vulnerable individuals of the population.
“Our assistance provides urgent, life-saving support, including shelter, safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, healthcare and mental health and psycho-social services, education, and protection for vulnerable individuals such as children, survivors of gender-based violence, and persons with disabilities. We will continue to play a leading role in responding to humanitarian needs both in the African continent and around the world.”
