Access Bank is set to take over from Standard Chartered Bank in Sierra Leone, Angola, Cameroon and The Gambia.
An agreement was reached between Access Bank Nigeria and Standard Chartered Global after the Nigerian bank purchased Standard Chartered’s Sub-Saharan subsidiaries.
The Sierra Leone subsidiary of Standard Chartered released their financial statements for 2022 on June 1, 2023.
The report showed that the bank recorded a total profit of NLe 53,038,164 for 2022.
The 2022 profit dwarfs their 2021 profit which is NLe 24,389,361 by almost two times.
Standard Chartered Bank is one of the world’s leading international banks with over 1,000 branches located in 59 countries around the world.
But the bank made some crucial changes in the past years to stop offering service to individual accounts in Sierra Leone and other African countries.
