Sierra Leone’s leading fuel distribution Company NP (SL) Limited has Commissioned new Fuel Station on Saturday 7th February, 2024 at Bunumbu, Kailahun district.The said station will cater for the Petroleum demands  of  four chiefdoms which are Peje West, Malema , Mandu and Peguia.

The commissioning is geared towards expanding NP’s brand and market volume throughout  Sierra Leone. The Company is focused on boosting partnerships with reputable individuals to enhance the supply of quality petroleum products to the general public. Key among the Np- SL staff present during the unveiling are Kobi-walker, CEO of Np-SL Ltd, Sales Manager, Ing Vandy Bockarie, Ing Alhaji Williams, amongst others.

A statement from NP’s Chief Executive Officer Kobi Walker during the unveiling, expressed thanks and appreciation to the people of Bunumbu for witnessing the historic achievement. He reminded the people of Bunumbu that the town use to be a thriving economic zone but due to the rebel war some of these gains were reversed and businesses become bad. He emphasized that the Company is in Bunumbu to ease the burden of people going to Kenema to buy petrol and diesel adding that they want to make sure all the other businesses complementing the sales of fuel are available so that the community can go back to its past glory

We have seen the struggles, we have seen People from Bundumbu travelling to Kenema to access many social needs. We Np in Partnership with Pa James want to change that narrative,” CEO Walker stated.

Speaking on the effects of the NP- SL presence, he assured the people that other big Companies will soon emulates their footsteps in the community. He further acknowledges the strategic role the Bunumbu teachers college has played serving as a fountain of knowledge for many who have excelled in their various walks of life. He described the Pumping machines in the station as the most sophisticated  across the country. He added that NP is also on the trajectory of becoming the first company that will automate and digitize sales as they  are moving  towards cashless transactions and solutions assuring that Bunumbu will also benefit from the technology.

He appealed to the stakeholders and community residents to protect the station work with Pa James so that they will be able to employ more indigenes in the community.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ansumana Conteh expressed his appreciation to Np- SL For the construction of the station and the selection of Bundumu despite similar calls from other communities . Speaking about securing the facility, he urged the community residents and stake holders that to take  collective responsibility adding that working together will facilitate intelligence which will make the work easier for the police to secure the environment.

Chairman of the Bike Riders Association, Yusif Alusine Moigwa expressed his excitement for the new c the new station. He revealed that for too long they have been struggling to access fuel except they have to go to places like Kenema and Daru but with the commissioning of the new station all  of  that will now become a thing of the past.

60-year-old Alhaji Amara James pointed out that seeing the constraints that residents went through in securing fuel was what prompted him to invest in the business venture expressing hope that the Filling Station will not only serve residents of Bunumbu Township, Peje West Chiefdom but also others from other chiefdoms within the district including Malema, Mandu and Penguia etc.

Th cutting of the tape was done  by the Chief Executive Officer of the NP-Sierra Leone Limited Kobi Walker and the Sales Manager of NP-Sierra Leone, Vandi Bockarie amidst a lot of jubilation by many from all walks of life .
