Sheik Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, has donated $15,000 to the Mabohanday Union of Limba Indigenes.
He made this donation during the organization’s 40th-anniversary celebration in the United States.
Jagaban, a prominent philanthropist, business leader, and influential figure within Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), was the guest of honor at the event.
The Mabohanday Union, composed of Limba descendants in the diaspora, is dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in Sierra Leone through initiatives focused on education, health, and social welfare.
Over the years, the Union has successfully mobilized resources to address critical needs back home, making a tangible difference in the lives of many underprivileged Sierra Leoneans.
During his speech at the anniversary celebration, Jagaban expressed his admiration for the Union’s ongoing commitment to uplifting those in need.
He highlighted the importance of community service and encouraged others to follow the example set by the Union in giving back to society.
“The work you are doing is vital, and your dedication to improving lives in Sierra Leone is commendable,” Jagaban stated. “It is our responsibility as leaders and members of the community to support such noble causes.
“The substantial donation from Jagaban is expected to provide a significant boost to the Mabohanday Union’s existing projects, allowing them to expand their reach and impact.
Union members expressed their deep appreciation for Jagaban’s contribution, noting that it would enable them to better address the challenges faced by the most vulnerable in Sierra Leone.
