Most Sierra Leoneans who recently migrated to the central European nation of Turkey are currently in fear of being deported, after the Turkish authority observed the mass influx of Sierra Leoneans into the country.
According to immigration authorities in Turkey most of these Sierra Leoneans entered Turkey with legal visas but are now reportedly facing deportation actions.
Speaking to this press from Turkey, one Sierra Leonean, Suffian Kai Samba said that the situation for Sierra Leoneans in that part of the world is worrisome and panicky.
He noted that the Turkish authorities have recently observed the mass exodus of Sierra Leoneans into the country, adding that most of them did not turn up for the programmes they were issued visas for.
He continued that such trend is worrying, adding that most of the Sierra Leoneans are now planning to migrate to other central European countries for fear of being deported.
Kai Samba further revealed that a good legal good number of migrants in Turkey left Sierra Leone for greener pastures and had to sell all their properties in order to make the trip.
On behalf of his Sierra Leonean brothers and sisters, he said, he is calling on the Sierra Leone government to intervene by pleading with Turkish authorities not to deport Sierra Leoneans.
