The Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA), Paul Sobba Massaquoi has made his first trip out of Sierra Leone since his reinstatement this year.

Massaquoi was present at the International Maritime Organisation General Assembly in London, United Kingdom.

The SLMA Executive Director presented the Sierra Leone STCW Statutory Instrument that was ratified by Parliament. He presented the project because it was his first project since his appointment in 2021.

According to a report from the event, the IMO was impressed with the presentation of the SLMA Executive Director and promised to visit the West African nation this April.

The IMO will inspect the SLMA facilities and tools before they are launched as a whitelisted maritime administration.

Massaquoi was recently acquitted of several corruption charges on procurement irregularities and abuse of office while serving the same position at the SLMA.
