In response to the allegation of corruptions lingering in the Annie Walsh Memorial School, the Anti-Corruption Commission for Sierra Leone has taken step to investigate the matter.
According to a Source at the ACC, the principal of the school was invited by the Commission yesterday, November 29th 2023 to help in the investigations on the alleged Corruption.
She was later arrested and detained by the Anti-Corruption Commission, the source said.
An ACC official also confirmed the news, noting that the Prinicipal was in their custody throughout the day but was granted bail later in the evening.
This comes following a trending video by a pupil, identified as Esther Collier, who claimed she was denied admission despite scoring the grade scored by others.
The pupil shared her broken story of going through rejection from her dream school after putting her best to continue schooling there and had rejected a scholarship from her former school in order to fulfill her dreams of attending the Annie Walsh Memorial School.
She expressed her frustration over the unfair treatment and called on the Sierra Leone authorities to look into the matter.

Serves her right
It is too much, I felt sorry for her 😭😭😭
Good work to Anti corruption commission for this great courage venture
I think other schools should be investigated
This Corrupted act is being taken by school heads as a business.
It’s clear that she is brilliant.
Good job done by the anti corruption commission for looking into this matter and others that have been going through the same. I watched this video this afternoon from a WhatsApp group that makes me feel sad and disappointed. Gouvernement should put an end to this kind of corruption if WE realy want to see the future leaders of tomorrow to represent out mama salone. One salone one people. May God bless mama salone 🙏
Good Job ACC, but The ACC is always responsive to alleged corruption of Teachers. But take the speed of snail 🐌 in other matters?
A move in the right direction. This is just a tip on the iceberg. This could be a deterent to This wicked act by some heads to think education is a business venture.
Bravo to ACC.
Over two thousand pupils opted for the school.will the school be able to admit all of them, when they have space for only 700.the principal was set up.ACC investigate properly
Why also they are taking Le 5,000 and above for just secondary school admissions. The government should privatized the school too.
I feel so sad for you my daughter
Anti corruption should have something better to do like going after all the MDAs that don’t pay their EDSA bills even though it is part of their budget and being allocated the funds for. That kind of move benefits the whole nation
It’s really heartrending to see a young girl of such nature be denied the access to quality education trying to fulfil her dreams…..I felt pity to the point of shedding tears after watching the video of such a brilliant girl expressing heartbroken…..Honestly this must be stopped
