Toward improving education in Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), led by Minister Conrad Sackey, has officially commissioned two modern classroom buildings for the United Brethren in Christ (UBC) Mission schools in Bo City.

This milestone forms part of President Julius Maada Bio’s broader agenda to address challenges in the educational sector, including overcrowded classrooms and inadequate infrastructure. The new facilities aim to create a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning, reinforcing the objectives of the Free Quality School Education (FQSE) initiative launched in 2018.

During the commissioning ceremony, Minister Sackey reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to providing quality education for all children. “Education is the backbone of national development. These state-of-the-art classrooms reflect our dedication to creating opportunities for every child to thrive academically,” he said.

Reverend Emmanuel Farma, a representative of the UBC Mission schools, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for its focus on enhancing education in Bo City. He highlighted how the additional classrooms would ease pressure on existing facilities and improve overall learning conditions.

Parents and students warmly welcomed the development, praising the government for prioritizing education. “This initiative is a game-changer for our children. It offers them a better chance to learn and succeed,” said one parent during the event.

The new classroom buildings stand as a testament to the government’s efforts to bridge the gap in educational access and quality across Sierra Leone. This project not only addresses pressing infrastructure needs but also underscores.
