They Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education Conrad Sackey said that they open the WAEC Portal Four Times for Schools to submit their entries For WASSCE Pupils but school authorities fail to submit despite a final reminde.
Speaking at the Government weekly Press Conference, Minister Sackey said WAEC in Ghana introduced the yearly CASS Online System in 2016 and highlighted the necessity of uploading CASS data yearly for three years before exam registration.
The Minister emphasized that if you fail to upload CASS in each of the three years, the system will not allow you to register.
Minister Sackey said WAEC provided training for school heads including tutorials and handbook manual
He revealed that 173,000 individuals uploaded on the CASS portal, with 248 schools failing to comply. Out of this number, 49 schools submitted data to the Ministry, which amounts to 13,000 pupils.
Assured measures are being taken to address the issue and they will inform the public accordingly
What category of candidates you opened the portal four times?
So what should be the final decision for the 30,000 students that are not on the list for the exam
The new minister Conrad Omalikeh Sackey is not specific as to which type of portal they open four times. The previous system was just a portal which took just a week to complete our entries and now we have two portals. The minister should come out to tell the public which type of portal they open four times. The portal everyone is asking for is the CASS Year 1 portal which they refuse to reopen. You cannot go to the BRS portal without the CASS Year 1 portal and WAEC is deceiving the public that they open the portal four times
The minister himself doesn’t understand the system. He still has the mentality of the old system, because he should have told WAEC to reopen the CASS Year 1 portal for schools to enter their candidates. But this new minister Conrad Omalikeh Sackey doesn’t understand and so WAEC keeps fooling him
There are no entry for the first time repeaters them.
Measures taken when will it take effects. This is just not good for the education the President has prioritised over the years. More needs to be done. May be the training takes place but with the wrong people.
