Concerned Parents of The Annie Walsh Memorial School Board has issued a Press Release vindicating the School’s Principal over allegations of  the school being involved in illegal admission of pupils in a recent viral video.

The Press Release from the concerned Parents reads “As the AWMS saga continues, we wish to highlight a few points for the consumption of the general public and all concerned.
The principal of the Annie Walsh Memorial School never received monies from parents or anyone during the 2023 admission process.

Anyone with such claims must come up with evidence or proof to substantiate their allegations.
Cut off marks for all of the schools are not determined by the schools but the Ministry of Education
Concessions are not automatic but are determined on a case by case basis.
To be allowed admission into the school on concession candidate must present a case to the administration.

Concession is normally given to the following categories of people:
Old pupils of the school
Community People
Teachers of the school
Other stakeholders in the Educational sector
It was observed that All grade A schools in the country gave concession based more or less on the above criteria not only AWMS.(Not only for 2023 but the practice over the years)
Why is AWMS the only school on the spot light ??

We believe that the allegations were designed by malicious and evil operators and a ploy to destroy the good name and image of the school and it’s administration
The school together with the principal would be vindicated and the perpetrators would be exposed”

Meanwhile, The AWMS Board recently issued a Public Notice on 30th November 2023 about the Video which has gone Viral.

The board further confirms that the acting Principal was not detained as Circulated but is safe and doing her job.
The Board further assured the public that it will issue a Press Release after the investigation.
