In a significant milestone for Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry, 25 aspiring DJs graduated from the Dj Mose Academy during a ceremony held at the Bintumani Conference Hall. Sponsored by the Anges Bio Foundation, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd of family, friends, and supporters, celebrating the achievements of the newly certified professionals.

The graduation was highlighted by a keynote address from Minister of Youth Mohammed Orman Bangura, who commended the Anges Bio Foundation for its investment in empowering youth through education and skill-building. He encouraged the graduates to embrace their roles as cultural influencers. “Not everyone can be a minister, but as a DJ, you can play songs that make the president dance,” Bangura said, urging them to seize their new opportunities.

Dj Mose, founder and CEO of the academy, reflected on his mission to elevate young talent in Sierra Leone. “Giving back to my country has always been my goal,” he stated, announcing plans to expand the academy with a new branch in eastern Freetown. He also called for more clubs and radio stations to hire professionally trained DJs, aiming to strengthen the country’s entertainment sector.

Graduates described the program as transformative. Grace Wonder Bangura, one of the graduates, expressed her gratitude and optimism. “This opportunity has changed my life, and I am excited to show what I can do,” she said.

The initiative, supported by the Anges Bio Foundation, signals a growing commitment to professionalizing Sierra Leone’s music and entertainment industry. With these newly trained DJs entering the workforce, the country’s cultural landscape is poised for growth.
