The Association of Music Producers & Engineers Sierra Leone (AMPE SL) has announced that it is conducting an official review into a dispute involving one of its members, Producer LWhyte, and artists Sweeter Boy and Legacy Boy.
The controversy centers on the song titled “Money Necessary”, which is alleged to have originally been recorded by Sweeter Boy before being recorded by Legacy Boy.
In an official public statement, AMPE SL assured stakeholders that an internal investigation has been initiated to establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the matter.
The Association emphasised its commitment to professional ethics, fairness, and the protection of intellectual and creative rights within Sierra Leone’s music industry. Members of the public and those involved in the dispute are urged to remain calm while the review is conducted.
“Upon conclusion of our review, the Association will communicate the appropriate findings and any necessary actions in accordance with our professional standards and the best interests of the industry,” AMPE SL stated.
