The Peace Ambassador of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Amadu Bah, popularly known as LAJ, has announced the cancellation of his upcoming “Kenema King Boss LAJ Live in Concert,” which was scheduled to take place on March 22, 2026, in Kenema.
In a press statement issued on Friday, February 27, the Ambassador’s office said the decision followed a meeting between his team and Kenema City Mayor, Thomas Karimu Baio.
According to the statement, the team was informed of “continued grievances” and expressed concern over remarks suggesting that members of the Ambassador’s team could face forceful initiation into the Poro Society if they proceeded with the event.
The statement described the alleged threats as an abuse of authority and a violation of constitutional rights, particularly the right to freedom of association. It further noted that the concert was intended not only as an entertainment event but also as a platform to promote messages of peace and unity.
“For the safety of the team and supporters, we have decided to cancel the show,” the statement read, adding that Sierra Leone belongs to all citizens and that no one should feel threatened in any part of the country.
The Ambassador’s office also apologized to fans and supporters in Kenema and expressed hope that the matter would be resolved peacefully. It called on relevant government authorities to look into the issue in the interest of unity, justice, and peace.
