Suad Baydoun, the former wife of Sierra Leonean footballer Mohamed Buya Turay, has addressed the public for the first time since their divorce, responding to allegations regarding their son’s well-being and her personal life.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Baydoun clarified that Buya Turay is not contributing to their child’s care, stating that she is the sole provider for their son, who was born in 2023.

“I want to clarify that his father isn’t providing any form of support towards him which makes me only person taking care of all his needs and thank God I’m capable and happy to do so.” She wrote.

In her post, Suad expressed gratitude for being able to support her child independently, while also calling for an end to false rumors and the unwarranted sharing of her photos. She emphasized her desire for privacy, noting that she is not a public figure and does not wish to have stories made up about her or her personal life.

Suad and Buya Turay’s marriage ended in February 2024, after months of tensions stemming from trust issues and speculation about the child’s paternity. These rumors led Buya Turay to undergo a DNA test, which ultimately confirmed him as the child’s biological father. Despite this resolution, the strain on their relationship remained irreparable, leading to their separation.

Suad’s message also included a plea for respect from bloggers and social media users, asking them to stop spreading false information and to respect her privacy. She explained that her social media posts are a personal form of self-expression, unrelated to anyone else, and she called for an end to the hurtful messages she has been receiving.

“When I post pictures, it’s not about showing off or trying to impress anyone. I post because it’s my way of sharing on my account. It’s about expressing myself and feeling good about it.
It’s not linked to anyone else; it’s purely about me and what makes me happy. So, there shouldn’t be any assumptions or false reasons attached to why I post my pictures.

“Regarding the comments about my son’s well-being, I want to clarify that his father isn’t providing any form of support towards him which makes me only person taking care of all his needs and thank God I’m capable and happy to do so.

“I kindly ask that bloggers respect my privacy and refrain from posting about me without my consent.

“It’s crucial for me to maintain a sense of trust and peace in my life. I’ve been receiving hurtful and disrespectful messages from his friends/bloggers,fake accounts etc and it’s time for it to stop.

“I’ve stayed silent for too long, but now I need to speak up. Please understand and respect my wishes. Thank you.”
