The Sierra Leone DJs Union has officially unveiled the nominees for the 2026 National Music Awards, with multi-award-winning superstar Drizilik emerging as the night’s frontrunner.

The artist has secured a total of seven nominations, further reinforcing his strong presence in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.

Launched in 2022, the SLeDU National Music Awards have quickly become a key event on the Sierra Leonean music calendar, dedicated to recognizing excellence in artistry, music production, and live performance. This year’s nominations highlight what many observers describe as a period of heightened creativity within the country’s music scene.

The nominations follow a successful year for Drizilik, driven largely by the critical and commercial reception of his Wait and See EP, released in early 2025. The project has reportedly attracted millions of streams and produced several popular tracks.

Drizilik’s nominations for the 2026 awards include Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Song of the Year for “Sabi Road”, Album of the Year for the Wait and See EP, Best Collaboration of the Year for “E Sweet” (iTribe featuring Drizilik), Best Collaboration of the Year for “Lemonade” (Drizilik featuring The Therapist), and Best Live Performance Act.

The SLeDU National Music Awards continue to serve as an important platform for recognizing both established performers and emerging talents in Sierra Leone’s growing music industry.

As anticipation builds ahead of the awards ceremony, fans and industry stakeholders are eager to see whether Drizilik, popularly known as the “Modern Day King,” will dominate the categories or if other nominees will emerge with major wins.
