Sierra Leone’s special envoy for entertainment and investment, Amara Dennis Turay popularly known as Kao Denero recently took to social media to offer guidance to the nation’s entertainers, emphasizing unity and professional growth.
Using Nigeria as an example, Kao Denero praised not only their influential Afro beats but also their strong stance against any disrespect towards veteran figures in the entertainment industry.
“A very good example we should emulate from our Nigerian brothers is not just their powerful sound of Afro beats but their nontolerance and positive conviction against disrespect towards industry elders and their rally for unity when the need arises,” he said.
The Ambassador further advised entertainers to prioritize their profession over personal disputes, especially on social media.
“The focus of entertainers must be business base not petty ego trippin. Social media is free for all opinions, but are you willing to keep that same energy once the drama spills out of control,” he advised.
He pointed out that the upcoming national entertainment conference would be an ideal venue for stakeholders to share actionable ideas with leadership. Additionally, Kao Denero listed several initiatives his administration is championing, for which he seeks the entertainment community’s support:
- Establishment of an entertainment commission
- Creation of a national studio
- Construction of an auditorium
- Development of a modern industry policy tailored for a streaming-focused market
- Addressing Laj’s issue, provided the industry supports it
- Advocating for affordable internet tariffs, especially for entertainment-centric usage
At the end, he called on all entertainers to join him so that they will achieve those items.
“I cannot do this alone,we need everyone onboard to achieve such, So help us GOD, ” he ended.
May Allah continue to bless you Kaodenero and my Allah also touch the heart of others to work with you
Kao all what you out line is baseless because all the nonses with in Sierra Leone entertainment industry started by you. If you as a senior stakeholder respect other music stakeholders and have one voice the industry should have respect.
2. If you the entertainers avoid politic and focus on your carrier by now the industry should have respect. Remember when you are an upcoming artist who supported you to be come whom you are today? Is that common man he sacrifice his or her 10 ot 20 Leone to support your lunching not evening politicians then today the people too have decided to stram Nigerian music on UTurb and other platform.
My advice to you all the entertainers try and decided to have one voice and put politic aside and structure the music industry if all of do that then is a win for sierra leone. But poverty will lead you all to become politials.
