Popular Sierra Leonean pop singer, Joseph Amos Bangura, known by his stage name Mos-B, has sadly passed away.

According to reports, Mos-B’s untimely demise occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 22nd.

Mos-B, a unique talent in the world of music, was not only a gifted singer but also a prolific songwriter, electrifying performer, and an exceedingly creative entertainer. Hailing from Sierra Leone, he was raised in a musical environment, nurtured by his musical mother, which kindled his passion for creating music. Remarkably, his first performance as a musician was in front of a massive audience of 20,000 people, setting the stage for his meteoric rise in the music industry.

Throughout his career, Mos-B achieved remarkable success, amassing an impressive number of YouTube views and cultivating a steadily growing fan base on various social media platforms.

This multitalented artist received numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2020 New School Awards (NSA) Best Diaspora Artist award, the 2019 Fanea Award for Best Diaspora Artist, and the 2019 Sierra Liberty Award, where he was recognized as Sierra Leone’s Versatile Artist of the Year. In 2019, he also clinched the SLAAM Award in the USA for the best cultural song, awarded for his mesmerizing track, “Back To My Roots and Culture,” among other honors.

Mos-B’s latest release, “Last Night,” is a musical masterpiece, seamlessly blending rhythmic Afrobeats with poignant lyrics, creating a narrative that resonates with depth and soul.

Notably, Mos-B made history by becoming the first global artist to record an awareness campaign song for COVID-19 in January of this year. The song quickly went viral, receiving recognition from major media outlets, including the BBC radio.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdown, Mos-B hosted a highly successful virtual show titled ‘SING 4 AFRICA,’ featuring a plethora of talented African artists, uniting them in a musical gesture of hope and solidarity.
