Brighton music producer, Steve Mac has joined a charity trip to Sierra Leone to collaborate and create a new album.
He heads to Freetown with DJ Amber D, artist and DJ Scott Gray aka Melonbomb, graffiti artists Inkie and SEN-1, and more.
The trip, organized by dance music charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life will see the team spend six days working with vulnerable and conflicted young adults at the WAYout Arts project, which follows a previous visit in November last year.
The latest trip will use music and art to inspire creativity and help members re-engage with education.
Through fun and intensive workshops, they will share their knowledge and “create a learning foundation for budding artists.”
Steve and others help teach the basics of electronic music creation and DJing with equipment donated by sponsors and Last Night A DJ Saved My Life supporters.
Steve also plans to complete an album with talented music students, having recorded five songs with them in November. It will be finalized and published later this year
At the same time, graffiti artists Inkie, Nicolas Dixon, and SEN-1 will organize workshops for young people to paint the WAYout studio building.
