Reactions has continued to trail the conversion of Sierra Leonean Singer and politician, Natasha Beckely popularly known with the stage name SWADU following her conversion to Islam on Friday. 

“Converted to Islam today it’s been a long journey I’ll explain later 🙏MashaAllah 🙏”, Beckley wrote on her social media platforms promising to reveal the reason behind her decision in due time.

This comes just few months after She declared interest in contesting for the position of Deputy National Youth Leader in the upcoming All Peoples Congress (APC), Young People’s Congress.

The former Miss Sierra Leone USA is one of the most consistent Sierra Leonean rapper and pageant queen with at least 3 years count in the Sierra Leone music industry.

However, mixed reactions have continued to trail the decision of the former Housemate Salone Judge.

A female user, Mabinty N’kama Sankoh who made a similar decision years ago described Beckley’s decision as good move. He said, “Alhamdulillah for his many blessings on your life. May Allah make it easy for you my dear. I did the same two years ago. Lots of judgements, but Alhamdulillah I’m in a better place now.”

However, John I. Kanu thinks Natsaha has to set side her music career to flourish in her new religion. He wrote, “Wow Islam and you music career hmmm I doubt one thing need need to be set aside no hard feelings. Wishing you all the best.”
