The Ministry of Health has on Wednesday, 7th May, 2025 confirmed Sixty Four (64) New MonkeyPox Cases, resulting to a vast increase of One Thousand Five Hundred and Forty Five (1,545) confirmed cases nationwide, no new recovery, and Ten (10) deaths since it broke out.

The official record further confirmed an increase of Two Hundred and Ninety Four (294) recoveries since the infectious disease broke out. Currently, the active cases has increased from One Thousand One Hundred and Seventy Seven (1,177) to One Thousand Two Hundred and Forty One (1,241).

The Ministry, in shedding light on the cases as confirmed in various districts across the country, formalized that the Western Rural currently hosts an increase of Three Hundred and Fourteen (314) cases, and an increase of One Thousand and Fifty Nine (1,059) cases in the Western Urban, cumulating the cases in the Western Area to One Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy Four (1,374).

The official report further confirmed that all the districts across the country has recorded case/s of Mpox, with Bo City currently house a total number of Sixteen (16) confirmed cases, and an increase of Forty Nine (49) cases in Bombali. Fourteen (14) cases in Kanema, Two (2) in Moyamba, Twenty One (21) in Port Loko, Five (5) in Tonkolili, with an increase of Six (6) in Kambia, and Three (3) in Karene, Two (2) in Pujehun, and Fourteen (14) in Kono District.

The report further confirmed that Bonthe hosts Two (2) confirmed cases since yesterday; Two (2) confirmed case in Falaba, increase of Six (6) cases in Kailahun, and Four (4) confirmed cases in Koinadugu. However, as confirmed in the recent report made by the Ministry, the Western Areas have experienced a vast increase in new cases as the new record confirms One Hundred and Fifty Three (53) new cases for the Western Areas, and just Eleven (11) new cases for the provincial areas.

With an overall increase of One Thousand Three Hundred Five Hundred and Forty Five (1,545) cases confirmed, according to the Ministry, Eight Hundred and Eleven (811) are male, while Seven Hundred and Thirty Four (734) are Female.

The report, which was made on Wednesday, 7th May, 2025, admonished the public to call on the free toll number 177 for emergency reports on any MPOX case or cases.
