Promising young Sierra Leonean Man suffering from kidney problems is seeking financial assistance from the government, kindhearted Sierra Leoneans and others outside of Sierra Leone to treat his ailment.

Identified as Samuel Chendey, the young man is a student studying Social work in the department of Sociology and Social Work at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Chendey who is now in the second year of his course was diagnosed with kidney disease at the EcoMed Medical Center at Kingharman Road in Freetown. It was discovered in his scan result, that he has Kidney stones which one of the kidneys is bigger than the other.

Doctors advised that he get treatment as soon as possible, stating that Kidney disease develops from stages and it reaches certain stage where it will be very difficult to handle.

Chendey is devastated as the sickness has affected him in his education. “This thing is seriously disturbing me. I have missed classes several times due to my health” he cried.

Chendey at the moment is complaining of serious pain at his left hand side coupled with other symptoms like, less appetite, poor bodily growth, pain when urinating etc. So far, he said he has not started any treatment and has been relying only on stage managing by taking some pain medicines and drinking plenty fluid.

This is because himself and family are financially challenged and cannot afford the money needed for treatment. According to him a sum of $10,000 is needed for the surgery in India.
