The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Austin Demby has on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone launched the sustainable solar energy solution to PCMH and ODCH hospitals with funding by the foreign, commonwealth and development office UK.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is in the lead of the UK’s work internationally by promoting the UK overseas, defending security, and values, reducing poverty, and tackling global challenges respectively.

The minister maintained that the launch was in the quest to fulfill the vision of President Bio’s zero preventable maternity and infant deaths in the country.

He disclosed that many more are placed to be benefiting from the same serve which may be distributed throughout the country in due time.

What gives me joy is that 26 additional primary healthcare units are slated for solar energy solutions. This is evenly distributed throughout the country including Tonkolili, Kailahun, Kenema, Bombali, this project of sustainable energy is a partnership between the government of Sierra Leone and the USAID”, he maintained.
