In an unfortunate event at Masiaka Town, a fourteen (14) years old girl was sexually molested by her own uncle at their residence on November 29th, 2023.
The incident left the young girl broken as she was deflowered in a horrifying manner by a relative she had so much respect for.
According to a witness, who is a close relative, the occurrence on the wrong night, was sadly witnessed by the victim’s father whose swiftness drew the attention of others that led to the arrest of the perpetrator by the Sierra Leone Police.
The victim was taken to the PortLoko referral health center as the matter was reported to the Masiaka POLICE division and the perpetrator detained in police custody.
Sadly after two weeks of the sad occurrence, some family members of the victim and the police want to compromise the issue, according to a relative.
Despite the severity of the offence and the condition of the victim, he said, they want to settle the matter in a family or traditional way for the perpetrator to be granted impunity.
The victim’s father is being pressured by half of the family are-like to have the perpetrator released from police detention, says another relative.
He said although the rape didn’t left a serious physical damage in the victim’s body, the stigma has taken a toll on her wellbeing, adding that she has been intermittently ill from time to time since the sad incident occurred.
According to him, the victim has been faced with cheap gossiping by neighbors and locals whenever she goes out of the house to get something from the market.
Despite the ugly encounters, he said, the family are still pushing to resolve the matter out of court.
“This is a pure act of wicked violence.” He said “Women and girls must be respected at all times. They don’t deserve such treatment. She is a very promising young girl, We should be helping her shape a vibrant future and not to sabotage her future wellbeing”.
They called on the attention of the government and that of their international partners against rape and gender base violence, and asked that they intervened into the matter.

Sierraloaded, we have so much respect for you because of the sacrifice you make on a daily basis to keep information about our country flowing. But one of the things you must not keep secret is the name(s) of the individual(s) involved in this kind of act. You should be bold enough to reveal their names and even their pictures so that the world will see them and shame them, or else your information is not complete. And it means, you yourselves are compromising evil in the society.
Sierraloaded, you should be posting the names and the pictures of the culprits. Don’t hide their identity or else, you yourselves are compromising. Except that you don’t have them. This will help boost your credibility. Thanks
So now if someone told me sierraloaded they are lying I will believe because there is no fact about the victim you people need to send the pictures of them. But I thought you people are lying or you want to help settle these matter yourself
Please allow the law to take it course. This is not family matter ✋ off our girls is still operating in the country.
