A shocking incident has just been reported in Sella Limba Chiefdom, Karene District, involving the brutal beating of a 19-year-old woman named Isatu S. Conteh by an officer of the Operational Support Division (OSD).

The officer in question, known as Suso Boy, is the current Station Sergeant (SS) attached to the Kamakwie Police Division. This incident has sparked outrage in the community, where Suso Boy is notorious for repeated unprofessional conduct.

The brutality of the assault on Isatu has intensified concerns over his behavior and the broader issue of police misconduct in the area.

The assault, which took place on Sunday, August 1, 2024, has left the young woman in critical condition, requiring immediate medical attention. Isatu was admitted to Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital (KWH) where she is currently receiving treatment. The severity of her injuries has raised significant concern among her family and the local community.

According to reliable sources, Isatu is in a relationship with the officer, who has been accused of numerous other crimes, including unauthorized raids and alleged theft. Despite the growing list of complaints against him, Suso Boy continues to evade accountability.

Local residents and the victim’s relatives are outraged by the officer’s actions and the apparent lack of legal repercussions. They are demanding that justice be served, questioning why the officer remains free and allegedly attempting to bribe his way out of the situation instead of being held in custody.

This incident is not an isolated case; Suso Boy has previously been accused of similar misconduct, yet remains in his position. The people of Kamakwie are calling for immediate action from the authorities, questioning whether this officer is above the law and whether justice will be served for Isatu Conteh.

The community is awaiting a response from the police authorities regarding the status of the officer and the measures that will be taken to ensure justice for the victim.
