Magistrate John Fornah of Magistrate Court No. 2 has remanded Sineh Dumbuya at the Male Correctional Centre after he appeared in court on charges of theft.

According to the particulars of the offence, the police allege that the accused, Sineh Dumbuya, stole a cooking pot, two large bowls, and two iron window frames, valued at a total of four thousand three hundred leones (Le 4,300), property belonging to the complainant, Nafisatu Conteh.

The prosecutor, Police Corporal 18235 K.K. Thoronka, presented his witness, Inspector John Simbeh Kamara, who is attached to the New England Ville Police Station.

Testifying before the court, the witness stated that he was on night duty on January 1st, 2026, when a man named Ramond Bangura reported that they had apprehended the accused in possession of the aforementioned items. Inspector Kamara further testified that statements were subsequently obtained from both the complainant and the witness.

He continued that on January 25th, 2026, a caution statement was obtained from the accused. The statement was read and explained to him in Krio, which he admitted to be true and confirmed by affixing his thumbprint.

The witness further testified that the accused was charged with larceny, and the caution statement was tendered in court as evidence.

The accused, who was not legally represented, informed the court that he had no questions for the witness.

Following the proceedings, the accused was remanded in custody, and the matter was adjourned to March 9th, 2026.
