A 17-year-old pupil, Henry Minah, attending Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School in Sembehun Nancy Tucker, Bagruwa Chiefdom, Moyamba District, was subjected to physical assault and public humiliation. The incident unfolded after he was accused of stealing and assaulting cold drinks from a local bah (shop) in Sembehun town.

Madam Esther, the proprietor of the bar and restaurant, disclosed that such incidents have been occurring in her shop for several months. Determined to address the ongoing thefts affecting her business, she took preventative measures, reaching out to Sullay to sleep in the shop during night shifts when night shows were held.

During one of these night shifts, Sullay apprehended Henry Minah, the alleged thief, around 1 am. The situation escalated as a significant crowd gathered in response to the alarm raised by Sullay.

The 17-year-old boy was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigations into the alleged theft and assault. The incident has raised concerns about the use of force and public shaming in dealing with suspected crimes, prompting discussions about the appropriate response to such incidents and the importance of respecting the legal process.
