A video circulating on social media features a woman crying foul play, alleging that her living baby was exchanged with a dead child at the 34 Military Hospital.

In an interview, the mother explained that the incident occurred on November 15, 2024, when she went to the hospital to deliver her baby. “I gave birth in the early hours of November 16, 2024,” she stated.

According to her, during her stay at the hospital, her mother and her baby’s father were with her. She identified the midwife as Sister Kamba, who, according to her, took the baby after the delivery. However, she initially thought that the midwife was just going to wash the baby.

She further explained that while lying down, her doctor, whom she identified as Dr. George, came in and asked how she was feeling. He instructed her to breathe in and out while pressing on her stomach. After he left, she began experiencing heavy bleeding and called for help, but no one responded. She continued to bleed until she lost consciousness.

When I regained consciousness, Dr. George came in and told me that I had lost my baby. I was shocked and asked what went wrong, but he said, ‘Stillbirth,’ and I started crying,” she explained.

As she was crying, her baby’s father entered the room and told her, “Take courage; you are not God.” That was all he said. Later in the evening, they took her to see the dead child. The baby was placed on her lap, and one nurse even told her not to cry.

The mother added that the baby’s father informed her that the baby would be buried the following day. She even removed clothes to give to him for the burial, but he assured her not to worry.

She later went to the hospital to request a death certificate and found there was no record of her baby’s death, nor a birth record. She went to the mortuary, where her baby’s father claimed to have left the baby, but the manager said they do not attend to stillbirths, and her baby was not there.

She then visited the Lumbel Police Station FSU Unit. After explaining the situation, the head of the FSU unit requested the contact number of the baby’s father and invited him. The next day, the father arrived with a lawyer, whom the mother claims was his ex-girlfriend, and the lawyer introduced herself as his legal representative.

The mother stated that the lawyer argued they had no obligation to speak with the police, suggesting that any questions should first be directed to the hospital, doctor, and nurses involved.

She further explained that, to this day, she has not received any information about her child. She also shared voice messages from some nurses at the hospital, including one from Nurse Amie, who told her that her child is still alive.

Up until now, the police have not contacted me about the matter,” she said. “The file has been sent to the CID, and while waiting, the baby’s father was signing at CID, but I still have no updates.”

Both the father and the hospital claim they did not bury the child. “I am convinced that my child didn’t die,” she concluded, sharing her final words.
