Hon. Rose Marie Bangura of the All People’s Congress (APC) party has provided street bulbs Solar panels, a plasma Television, building materials and other items worth millions of Leones to five communities in Constituency 055, Northern Sierra Leone.

Aims News Network reports that Masumbrie, Kamaruku town, Mamusa, Kalmaro Tendaren, and Maboi-bana are the five communities that benefited from the lawmaker’s goodwill. The presentation of the items was done on Sunday, 15th May 2022, in Masumbri town in the presence of community stakeholders from the five communities.

Presenting the items to her constituents, the main opposition All People’s Congress female Member of Parliament said that the move is part of her goodwill gesture to empower her people.

 

“During my campaigns, I promised that I will contribute to the development of my people and community. And it’s on that backdrop I’m doing this to fulfil my promise,” Hon. Bangura said.

Kamaruku, the headquarters of Kafe chiefdom benefited a plasma TV, seven street bulbs and a solar panel for the hospital in the town. The town also benefited two Street lights solar panel.

For Maboi-bana, Mamusa, and Kalmaro Tenderen, two street light solar panels were given to each of the communities.

For Masumbri town, building materials worth over eighteen million in local currency were donated for the completion of an ongoing building project of a maternity home in the town.

In his statement, Mohamed Smooth Bangura, the Councilor of the area said, the move by the MP is timely, and in the right direction. He urged community members, especially authorities to use the items for it intended purpose.

On behalf of the five communities, the headman of Kamaruku town, Alpha Sesay, thanked the lawmaker for her benevolence. The chief assured the APC MP of the community’s continual support to the MP.

The offering of special prayers for the member of parliament and singing of traditional songs climaxed the colourful ceremony.

Constituency 055 covers Simiria, Kafe chiefdoms, and some parts in Dasogoia chiefdom, in Tonkolili District, Northeast region.
