Mohamed Moriba, a politician, former military officer, and Southern Region Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the All People’s Congress (APC), has been granted bail by Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown after appearing on a charge of incitement contrary to law.
Moriba reappeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah in connection with allegations that he created and circulated materials containing messages capable of inciting public disorder.
According to the charge before the court, the alleged offence occurred on December 27, 2025, at Kamalo Village in the Karina Judicial District in the North-East Province. Prosecutors allege that the accused created and disseminated audio and video recordings containing messages intended to provoke mayhem, disorder, chaos, and unrest in the country.
The prosecution further alleges that the materials were published on a TikTok account identified as “Salone Gossip Hub.”
No plea was taken after the charge was read and explained to the accused, as the matter remains before the court by way of committal proceedings.
During the hearing, defence counsel C. Kamara Esq. renewed applications for bail and held consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Following the submissions, Magistrate Fornah granted bail to the accused.
The court subsequently adjourned the matter to July 2026 for further hearing.
The case continues as prosecutors pursue the allegation that the published audio and video recordings contained messages capable of disturbing public order, while the accused remains on bail pending the next court appearance.
