A popular supporter of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) known by many as Arata, has been discovered injured and reportedly lifeless on the streets of Freetown.

According to social media reports, he was purportedly involved in an attempted theft of a Kekeh from a Kekeh Rider in the capital Freetown.

Commentators on social media have alleged that Arata had repeatedly engaged in harassment and intimidation of prominent figures within opposition parties.

In one social media post by an individual named Abu, it is mentioned that there was a situation involving him and Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyer. The Mayor alleged that Arata had attacked and damaged her vehicle. Abu’s post further highlights that Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyer reported the incident, but the case allegedly went uninvestigated, resulting in Arata being permitted to go without consequences

Other Social media comments about Arata’s photos indicate that numerous citizens have reported instances of intimidation to the police, alleging that he has managed to evade legal consequences. Many individuals assert that his apparent immunity is linked to influential figures within the government who shield him from prosecution.
