The assistant Imam of Fairo village Sorogbema Chiefdom has been declared missing by the District Coordinator of the Office of National Security, Pujehun District.

Festus Joseph Gbanie, District Coordinator of the Office of National Security in Pujehun, has issued an urgent call for a widespread search for 42-year-old Mohamed Koroma, the Assistant Imam of Fairo village, Sorogbema Chiefdom. This plea comes in light of Koroma’s sudden disappearance and the growing trend of mysterious vanishings in the region.

The appeal was made during an emergency meeting held in Jendema town, which aimed to address the increasing number of unsettling incidents across Pujehun District. The meeting, described by Gbanie as a “family talk,” was attended by security forces, district council members, chiefdom leaders, border security officials, and media representatives.

Gbanie highlighted the importance of this case due to the district’s location near the Liberia border, which heightens the urgency of the search. He noted that the disappearances have not been limited to Sorogbema Chiefdom but have also affected Gallines, Perri, and Kpanga Chiefdoms, escalating the security situation.

Recent reports have included alarming incidents of cannibalism and kidnapping in the district, which Gbanie condemned as unacceptable.

The Office of National Security is now mobilizing resources and coordinating with various stakeholders to intensify the search for Imam Koroma and address the broader security concerns in the area.
