A security guard stationed at the Africell pole in Sumbuya Lugbu Chiefdom in Bo District was allegedly attacked and injured by unknown assailants in the early hours of Monday, March 18, 2024.

According to reports, the attackers targeted the guard while he was on duty, stealing phones and leaving him tied up with a rope around his neck. The victim was found by community members who immediately transferred to Bo Government Hospital for medical treatment.

The Sumbuya Police Station is currently investigating the incident. This attack comes amidst growing concerns about safety in the community, with residents expressing anxieties over recent incidents. They have called on the government to address these issues and ensure their security.

Sumbuya Lugbu is known for hosting the Pineapple Juice Company, which employs a significant number of workers from outside the community.
