Sierra Leone’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Bah, has engaged in high-level discussions with his Gambian counterpart, Dawda Jallow, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance key governance sectors in both countries.
The meeting, held on February 13, 2025, highlighted mutual interests in constitutional reforms, election management, and justice sector improvements.
The discussions underscored the historical ties between Sierra Leone and The Gambia, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing democratic principles and legal frameworks.
Both officials explored strategies for enhancing the justice system, ensuring fair electoral processes, and undertaking comprehensive constitutional reforms that align with international standards.
Attorney General Bah emphasized the importance of the dialogue, noting that the exchange of ideas and experiences would benefit both nations.
“This meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to share insights on legal and judicial reforms, as well as strategies for effective election management. There is much to learn from each other, and we are committed to fostering this longstanding relationship,” he stated.
