PC Bai Kurahray II, the newly elected Paramount Chief of Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom was on the 29th November 2024 installed and inaugurated by the Government of Sierra Leone.

During the symbolic occasion in Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom headquarter town of Mabang, the Tonkolili District, Chairman of the National Council of Paramount Chiefs, PC Dr Masakama Madibie II reminded the new Paramount Chief of his biggest task which is uniting his people.

The Chairman said the Chiefdom won’t grow if PC Kuhrahray fail to bring his people together.

Unity and peace, PC Masakama said are the only vehicles that will move any Chiefdom forward. He also warned subjects of the new Paramount Chief to be law abiding and respect their new leader.

In his address, PC Bai Kurahray assured his people that he will ensure he upholds the values of Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom and ensure he brings together the Chiefdom and the people for sustainable peace and development.

To his supporters, the Paramount Chief said it’s time to move forward and ensure they contributed to the growth of the Chiefdom.

“This is not the time for unnecessary conflicts that might bring us backward,” PC Kuhrahray said.

As the Paramount Chief, he said he’s not against anyone and urged his opponents and supporters to support his initiatives and agendas.

To his opponents, he said he’s ready and willing to receive them for the sake of peace and unity.

Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom, he said is bigger than everyone and its development lies on all residents and indigenes.

Among those presents are the District Officer of Tonkolili District, Paramount Chiefs, Sections and Village Chiefs, and dignitaries from other works of life.

PC Bai Kurahray II was elected Paramount Chief of Kholifa Mabang on the 26th October 2024. His election came at a time when the Chiefdom is searching for a leadership that redeems the community from poverty and backwardness.

Officials from the Ministry of Local Government encourage the Paramount Chief to support the agendas of the Government of Sierra Leone and promote peace and unity.

Singing and dancing climaxed the historic occasion.
