The Benevolent Old Students Association (BenoSA), comprising the alumni of Benevolent Islamic Secondary School in Makeni, issued a scathing condemnation on August 12, 2025, of the arson attack that occurred on August 7, 2025, at their esteemed institution, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.
In its press release, the Secretariat of the Association emphasises the urgent need for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the devastating incident.
“The arson attack has sent shockwaves through the school community, jeopardising the safety of pupils, staff, and property. Despite the chaos, the association remains resolute in its pursuit of justice, urging law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation,” the statement reads.
BenoSA condemns the act of arson in the strongest terms and calls on the authorities to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice.
“It is essential that the truth be established based on verified facts and that those responsible are identified and brought to justice,” the statement added.
The association has also urged all stakeholders, including pupils, staff, community members, and authorities, to cooperate fully with the investigation, emphasising that unity and cooperation are crucial in the face of adversity. As the investigation unfolds, the association remains committed to the educational development of its community, vowing to work together to rebuild and strengthen the institution.
“Despite this setback, our dedication to the educational development of our community remains unwavering,” the association stated. “We trust that justice will prevail and that our community will emerge more resilient than before.”
