The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has welcomed a delegation OF Russian medical specialists to Sierra Leone. led by His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Yongawo, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation. On December 8, 2025.

The mission aids to deliver advanced, life-saving interventions and restorative treatments; it’s also focused on dentistry and oral surgery. This specialized care addresses a vital aspect of overall well-being, directly improving quality of life for patients.

Acting Minister Madam Francess Piagie Alghali formally received the delegation at the Ministry. In her address, she expressed profound gratitude for their dedication to safeguarding the health and dignity of Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable mothers and children. She hailed the team of obstetricians, midwives, and prenatal care specialists as “frontline defenders” in the nation’s urgent campaign to reduce maternal and infant mortality.
