A young woman, identified as Zainab, was reportedly kidnapped yesterday while on her way to work in Grassfield, Freetown. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of NLe 10,000 (10 million old Leones).

Thanks to the swift action of the Sierra Leone Police, Zainab was rescued and found tied up in Allentown, a community recently flagged for increased kidnapping activities.

This follows a similar incident in July, when a woman named Nacybatu Koroma went missing and was later found tied up after her family received threats from kidnappers demanding a ransom.

Authorities urge the public to exercise caution, especially when accepting free lifts at night. Citizens are advised to stay vigilant, be aware of their surroundings, and avoid offers that seem convenient but may pose hidden risks.
