A tragic incident has rocked the community of Bumpeh Town in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District, where a 70-year-old man, Lansana Saramy, was reportedly found dead in his bedroom following an alleged sui**cide.

Saramy, who had served as caretaker of a residential compound in the town for several decades, is said to have attempted to sell the property without the knowledge or consent of its rightful owner.

The unauthorised transaction reportedly triggered concern and swift intervention from residents and family members of the owner, who strongly opposed the sale.

According to community sources, the confrontation and mounting pressure may have overwhelmed Saramy, prompting him to retreat into the room he had occupied for over thirty years. He was later discovered deceased, with indications pointing to sui**cide by hanging.

The incident has left residents in shock and raised questions about property management practices, caretaker accountability, and mental health support for elderly individuals involved in long-term informal arrangements.

Community leaders have called for calm and urged families to resolve disputes through lawful and peaceful means.
