Abdulia Bundu, widely known as “Eastern Man,” a notorious drug dealer, and eleven of his associates were arrested in a major operation conducted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday, 9th December, 2025.

The operation targeted drug trafficking networks in the capital city and resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of illegal substances.

At a press briefing held at the Murray Town Barracks, NDLEA Director Andrew Kaikai confirmed that Bundu had been a key figure in the local drug trade, actively evading capture for several months.

Kaikai noted that Eastern Man had been under surveillance for a long time, particularly after a violent incident last year when Bundu and his associates physically attacked a military personnel during a raid on the Lumley area.

Director Kaikai also pointed to a widely circulated video in which Bundu had admitted to selling cocaine and Kush, a potent form of cannabis. In the video, he stated that he would cease his drug dealing activities, but despite this public declaration, Bundu continued his illicit trade.

According to Kaikai, the Special Task Force, acting on intelligence, successfully located Eastern Man in a hideout in the Kamayama area. When arrested, Bundu was found in possession of 52 packs of cocaine, as well as 12 “bonkers,” devices commonly used for sniffing the drug.

The authorities further discovered a spiritual charm, locally known as “juju,” in his possession, which is often linked to drug dealers seeking protection from law enforcement.

The operation also led to the arrest of eleven other suspects, including seven women and four men. Authorities seized over 2,982 wraps of Kush, multiple boxes of 250-milligram Tramadol, and more than 31 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as “Jamba.”

Other materials seized included chemical substances used in the mixing of drugs, such as a substance called “Disel,” as well as six blenders used for Kush processing.

Director Kaikai also revealed that the task force had been investigating another suspected drug dealer, known only as “Bash,” who managed to escape arrest during the operation. However, authorities were able to seize a Nissan vehicle and a safe from Bash’s compound.

Kaikai concluded by stating that all arrested individuals, along with the seized evidence, would be handed over to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation and prosecution.
