Mohamed Kamara, coordinator at Makama Logistics, on Monday 21 March 2022, testified before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh how he was assaulted when he went to effect an arrest.

In his testimony he told the Court that he has known the accused Mohamed Lamin Tarawallie as a colleague in the same company and recall on Friday 12 November 2021, when his boss Mohamed Marrah called him to his office to sign as one of the signatures for Sierra Leone Commercial Bank.

As he was coming out of his boss’ office he saw the accused climbing the steps of the office, he waited for him to cross, and he rushed at him and tore his T-shirt. He decided to go to the Police Station (Ross Road) and report the matter. He was issued with a Medical Doctor for examination and treatment.

The police Medical Request Form was identified as exhibit z and that a statement was obtained from him and his witness. After the testimony, he was cross examined by the defense counsel M Sheriff Esq.

If could be recalled that the accused Mohamed Lamin Tarawallie is charged with a count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offence Against the Person Act 1861. According to the charge sheet the accused on Friday 12 November 2021, at Jenner Wright Road, Kissy, Freetown, assaulted Mohamed Kamara in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

The accused is on bail. The matter was adjourned to 4th April 2022. Sergeant 9095 Fofanah H.S is prosecuting the matter.
