A police detective, in his testimony in the Dwarzark murder case, has revealed the grim discovery of a deceased individual found within the accused’s compound toilet.

Abdulai Mustapha Nyallay, a police detective, provided chilling details during his testimony regarding the discovery of teenager Ishmael Morobia’s body in an old toilet within the compound of the accused, Ishmael Conteh, in December 2023.

Conteh currently faces a murder charge before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

According to the police report from Freetown, Conteh allegedly committed the murder on December 27, 2023, at Upper George Brook in Dwarzark, Freetown.

Detective Nyallay, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the New England Ville Police Station in Freetown, recounted the events of December 28, 2023. He recalled being on duty when Conteh reported to the station about a corpse found in their old toilet at Upper George Brook in Dworzack, Freetown.

Upon receiving this information, Nyallay informed the court that he was tasked with leading a team of officers to investigate the alleged crime scene. He was accompanied by his colleague, Police Officer Detective Samura.

Upon their arrival at the scene, Nyallay disclosed that they were directed to an old toilet behind Conteh’s house, where he observed a rice sack in the pit.

However, the prosecution was forced to request an adjournment as Police Prosecutor Inspector Tamba Sellu sought more time to confer with Nyallay.

Conteh, who appeared in court without legal representation, stood with his head down as Magistrate Kekura adjourned the proceedings to Wednesday, March 20.
