One Madam Sia Sandy, who resides at Kamiendor Road in Koidu city, has reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown that the death of her husband at the Life Care Hospital on Wilkinson Road in the capital was a foul play.
Updating the press on Thursday 10th March, 2022 at the Police Headquarters on George Street in Freetown, the Supervisor of Economic Crimes at CID Headquarters, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mellah Bangura said the matter was ongoing whilst investigations were still waiting for the pathologist to perform autopsy on the deceased.
In another development, the police are investigating an Indian national, Shaumugan Sundu So Damaraju, for allegedly obtaining US$20,000 from his colleagues national. Joseph Gerald by by falsely pretending he had gold to present to the complainant, knowing same it be false.
DSP Bangura said the suspect was under custody whilst the investigation was ongoing. He furthered that one Lamin Sesay, and many others were also being investigated for allegedly forging some Temporal Vehicle Registrations of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA).
According to the Satellite Newspaper, DSP Bangura also disclosed that the police were investigating alleged office breaking and larceny at the National commission for Social Action (NaCSA).
According to the senior detective, a Logistics Assistant at NaCSA, Patrick Festus, reported that on 7th February 2022 thieves broke into their warehouse and stole properties worth Le300 million.
